Already she cut her front hair in bangs.

tell her genuinely, you want to have her hair short, don’t tell her shoulder length first. u say little above mid back something like that. company her to the parlour/barbershop where she is willing and discuss about shoulder length there only when she is all caped and discussing the style. be prepared she won’t be able to counter you, as she will not be expecting this.

Also another solution can be, instead of a sudden change like i went from waist length to pixie. Ask you girlfriend to first reduce some length say 5 inches. Then after a few days ask her to reduce again. That way she will also wont feel the change too much and also you can enjoy looking at her different lengths and click her pics in different length and keep it for memory.
